In applications where the test light source can be considered a point source the luminous intensity in cd and the radiant intensity in W/sr can be calculated using the X4 illuminance and irradiance measurement values and the distance between the detector and test source.
The X4 software calculates the luminous intensity for a distance entered by the user. Typical applications for luminous intensity are directional light sources such as train and traffic light signals and airport runway lights.
